| Xanga It's good to Xanga! While it's tough to keep in touch with everyone as much as I'd like...perhaps this will help. And it SURE IS GOOD to be able to keep track of you all via your Xanga blogs. I am LOVING that!
So...news from Boganland - we miss the college kids who have left. Bwa! Not like we saw much of our Fine Young Son this summer anyway (the week and week-end at Camp of the Woods were both tremendous). The last couple of weeks of August we can pretend in our minds that the local graduates are just on vacation, but really we know better. It always happens this way...first they get taller than me...then the next thing you know they're off to the dorms (or at least the big school, even if they're living at home). Or if they're clever like Meagan, moving their home and family TO the university. That was a good trick.
To cope with our loss of older teens underfoot, we got a kitten this week. A little bitty black kitten from our friends the Grubes (Need a yellow one? They've got one left! See family photo above). Still working on names... The short list looks like:
Teriyaki (Teri) - "kitten on a stick," served in many fine asian restaurants
Poindexter (Dex) - he's very dextrous - good with his "hands," as it were - everything is his toy, people included
Rorschach (Shock? Splat? Inky?) - because if he skitters directly under one of Leonard's big feet, he'll look like an ink blot test. This name may be a little too Germanic for me, but I could probably adapt...
Chat noir (how do you nickname that one?) - literally "black cat" in French. Our other cat is Toulouse, so that would continue the French naming tradition for Bogan kitties.
Zorro (Z-Cat) - because he still has all of his CLAWS and is leaving marks (also zorro in Spanish means fox - and he does have a somewhat fox-like face and very perky ears). The claws, however, are temporary. And all names can be unisex because...more than his claws are being removed when he goes to the vet next month.
Care to vote on the name? Write-ins are also accepted. I'm willing to go with the majority on this one (That's how we named the stuffed moose over our mantle. Dear oldThrockmorton.)
Anyway - Leonard and I are always glad to hear from you all! Have a glorious end of August - and a joyful first day of school to our friends at Plumstead!
